Inspired by a childhood spent in Saskatchewan and then enriched by a decade of exploring Europe, the artist behind Woodland Posy Designs creates each piece with deep intention. Many designs feature wood from a barn built in 1907 by her great-grandfather—a true piece of Saskatchewan history, now restored and transformed into heirloom décor.

In 2024, I launched my signature décor collection, a heartfelt culmination of reclaimed barn wood, forest boughs, branches, and glass. Each piece is uniquely handcrafted by me to celebrate the beauty of nature in Summer, Winter, Fall & Spring.
My creations are deeply rooted in both my upbringing and my travels. I grew up in a little house on the prairie in Saskatchewan, Canada, surrounded by delicate blooms like sweet peas, dandelions, crocuses, and lilacs. From a young age, I dreamed up creative ways to display the flora I loved, sparking a lifelong passion for natural design. But my journey didn’t stop there.
For a decade, my family and I lived and traveled throughout Europe, where my inspiration grew even deeper. From the enchanting Christmas markets of France to the vibrant open-air shops of Spain and the elegant simplicity of Swiss and Nordic design, each experience shaped my artistic vision. This blend of prairie nostalgia and European influence is woven into every piece I create.
My two signature designs are The Hanging Posy, crafted from tree boughs and adorned with delicate glass bud vases and The Wall Posy, a primitive style wall sconce made from 120-year-old reclaimed barn wood and recycled jars. These pieces, both rustic and refined, are designed to showcase seasonal blooms and bring the beauty of nature indoors all year long. Every piece I design is unique and tells a story, handcrafted with care and infused with my passion for blending natural simplicity with artistic elegance.
I am always so pleased to launch "Beach Flowers" this summer 2025! I have studied Zone 3 fresh cut flower growing for 3 years now and can not wait to share these flowers with my local community from July to October every year.

The Barnwood
In 1907, my great-grandfather built a barn in the heart of Saskatchewan, a structure that would stand for over a century, witnessing generations of hard work and prairie life.
As my dad tells it, the barn was crafted from logs cut 20 miles north of the homestead where the tree line began since the open prairie had no trees of its own. In the 1950s, we filled the hayloft with soft prairie wool—natural grass that fed the animals through the long winters. Each stall had a small opening above the manger where we pushed down hay, ensuring every animal was fed. On the coldest days, when temperatures plummeted to -50°C, the barn’s warmth was a refuge. We cut holes in the ice outside so the animals could drink, knowing they’d always return to the comfort of its shelter. Until electricity arrived in 1958, hurricane lanterns lit the space, casting a warm glow over the bustling life inside. Horses, milk cows, pigs, and chickens all called this barn home, and nestled among them, barn cats curled up on the backs of cows and horses, absorbing their warmth.
Though time took its toll and the barn was eventually taken down for safety, its story continues. Now, 120 years later, its wood has been lovingly restored and transformed into The Wall Posy—a piece of history reborn to hold delicate blooms. May it bring a touch of prairie heritage into your home.
The Tree Wood
In 2022 my family of 5 left Europe to move back home to Canada after living as expats in Texas, Switzerland & Spain for 10 years. I had not lived in the countryside for over 30 years before moving back. I felt incredibly inspired by the quiet beauty and stillness of my new life surrounded by nature instead of people. The long country roads, the sunrises on the lake and the beautiful trees year round. While living in Europe I was surprised at how their seasonal decorations, especially for Christmas and Easter, incorporated tree boughs and branches so often. Commercialised decor was very hard to find there and this inspired me to create something simple and natural with the trees I'm surrounded with. I am lucky because I live on a beautiful lake surrounded by little woodlands and brush. I’m extra lucky because our beach community has a tree refuse down the road and when owners are clearing brush they take them there. I have so many beautiful choices to choose from like poplar, spruce, willow and cedar just to name a few. The Hanging Posy and The Twinklewood Posy bring a piece of the soul of Saskatchewan into your home as art to display seasonal flora.
